Dr Kawa Haji is a consultant cardiologist specialising in coronary and valvular heart disease.

His expertise spans heart disease risk assessment, coronary artery stenting, and advanced transcatheter valvular heart interventions. As a clinician-researcher, Dr Haji is deeply committed to enhancing the delivery of cardiology services to the public.

Having completed his comprehensive cardiology training at Western Health, Royal Melbourne Hospital, and Ballarat, Dr Haji pursued further sub-speciality training at Western Health and Alfred Health. His academic journey culminated in the completion of a PhD thesis at the University of Melbourne and the Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute. His research delved into innovative cardiac imaging techniques, yielding impactful contributions that have been published in esteemed international journals.

Dr Haji has also shared his insights at international and national conferences. After his PhD, he has secured further Heart Foundation funding to continue research in the field of interventional cardiology, and he is actively involved in clinical research and supervises research students.

Currently holding appointments and performing procedures at Western Health, Alfred Health, Epworth Richmond, St John of God Ballarat, and Western Private Hospital, Dr Haji brings his wealth of experience to diverse healthcare settings.

Beyond his professional commitments, Dr Haji finds solace and joy in various activities. He is a runner and enjoys the tranquillity of bushwalking. However, his most cherished moments are spent with his young family, creating a balance between his professional and personal pursuits.
