For Patients

Our task is keeping the world healthy

Consultations and Diagnostic tests

Consultations are available in all HeartWest locations. Sessions are generally from 9am to 1pm and from 2pm to 5pm on weekdays. Please check actual session times with the clinic, as doctors’ hours vary from day to day. All consultations are by appointment only.
We currently do not charge a fee for missed appointments, but we would appreciate you letting us know if you cannot attend your appointment or run late. This allows best use of the doctors’ time. Patients are generally seen in order of medical urgency, appointment time, and finally order of arrival. If it is possible, staff will inform patients if their appointment is likely to be significantly delayed. Please make sure we have your up-to-date contact details to enable speedy communication.
Payment is expected on the day of service. We are committed to providing an affordable service, Currently all investigations are bulk billed (ie no out-of-pocket fee) other than for 24hour blood pressure monitor for which there is a small fee (as currently this test is not subsidised by Medicare). Consultations with your specialist will generally incur a charge and out of pocket fee. However, fees can be discussed with your doctor. We provide immediate Medicare Claiming on payment of your account. Delayed payment of the account may attract an administrative fee (please discuss this with our staff or your doctor).
Our cardiologists will discuss any out-of-pocket fees that may be incurred for inpatient care (other than any excess that you may have nominated).
We will always disclose our fees in a letter prior to your appointment.
We will disclose any financial conflicts of interest if they arise.
Your best care is our primary motivation.
It is important that you ensure that your private health insurance meets your needs and in particular has cover for cardiology procedures. Please check with your health fund that you have the best cover for you and your family.

For all appointments please bring:
